Theme Description

Mobile Suit Gundam is the story of the One Year War, waged between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon. Much of the war has been dominated by Zeon's Mobile Suits, eighteen meter high humanoid robots operated by skilled military pilots. Zeon, an orbital nation seeking independence from the Earth, launched a surprise attack on the Federation. The war's opening days were immensely destructive, involving colony drops that decimated portions of the Earth, as well as considerable nuclear assaults. Since then, despite an invasion of Earth by Zeon, the war has been at a stalemate. However, in an effort to end this stalemate, the Federation is employing their prototype Mobile Suit, the RX-78-2 Gundam.
