Theme Description

The Discworld is a planet of magic: flat, carried on the backs of four elephants, who themselves stand atop Great A'Tuin, the World Turtle. It is saturated in magic, usable by wizards and witches...although they prefer not using it, it's rather safer. Its greatest city is Ankh-Morpork, a hive of scum and villainy...but one that works, run by Lord Havelock Vetinari and served by the able City watch, led by Commander Samuel Vimes, Duke of Ankh-Morpork. The city is also home to the Unseen University, one of the most powerful magical locations on the planet and the sole wizard's college. The number eight is extremely important.
