The Syndicate

The Syndicate started existence as a loose alliance between a number of criminals and warlords who didn't like the presence of the Interplanar League. It's grown since then, but at its heart, it's still informal, efficient, and notoriously difficult to pin down. Some of are power-brokers and warlords who seek influence and might throgh military methods. They frequently come into direct conflict with IPA peacekeepers, and some want to weaken or overthrow the meddlesome organization.

Other Syndicate members are interested in perpetuating their own illegal activities, and don't care about the League as long as it's not paying them any attention. The Syndicate also contains a number of hirelings, merceneries, and "unattached" operatives. It's willing to hire or assist anyone with few scruples, or a need for less-than-legal assistance. Of course, it's a viper's nest of intrigue, and betrayal isn't an uncommon occurrence. The Syndicate does not officially exist--it has a network of drop boxes, radio channels, and other communication methods, but for the most part, they work out of fronts (such as the holding company Meyer-Gaines) and similar outlets. This helps keep them under the IPA's radar.

There are currently 12 members within the Syndicate.
