MacGuffins

MacGuffins are things that are legitimate parts of a source's canon, but are too imbalancing to use on a regular basis. Examples include the Death Star from Star Wars, the One Ring from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and the Triforce from the Legend of Zelda series. Compiling a definitive list of them would be impossible, so we've come up with a simple rule of thumb: If the powers attributed to and/or granted by an object would turn someone into a game-breakingly powerful character if they were conferred upon said character, it's a MacGuffin.

But that doesn't mean MacGuffins can't be brought into play--you just need staff permission to use them.
