Profile: Vincent Thompson is a Mechwarrior and mercenary commander, leading the unit Vincent's Vanguards for whomever can offer the highest bid. Of course, sometimes he considers himself as his best client. A former citizen and member of the Oberon Confederation's military, that changed with the Clan Invasion, which destroyed the state he once called home and caused Vincent to turn mercenary. After all, his kingdom wasn't the best or brightest in the Periphery, but it was home and his family lived there. The Clan War was a nasty fight for everyone, and in the process of learning from the harshest school possible, Vincent and his Vanguards gained a repuation for being a rough, tough, and throughly nasty unit, and one that sports a surprising amount of scavenged Clan Tech for a simple mercenary unit. Of course, in addition to their repuation for being competent, there's also some nasty rumors that the Vanguards don't exactly play by the accepted rules of war all the time...
